Edumedics was started in 2010 by two Louisville, Kentucky health care professionals who recognized that employees with chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes typically account for up to 75 % of a company’s medical costs. By analyzing a company’s specific trends and providing individualized coaching and health care management for targeted employees, Edumedics can dramatically improve medical treatment and compliance while lowering claims for service.
“We have demonstrated the effectiveness of our programs and have saved meaningful health care dollars for our clients,” says Edumedics Chief Executive Officer Alice Shade, who founded the company with Dr. Richard Goldstein. “We are excited to continue scaling that model to meet the needs of the many organizations throughout the country that are grappling with these same healthcare cost issues.”
Edumedics is headquartered in the University of Louisville’s Nucleus Innovation Park’s Health Science Business Center in downtown Louisville.
